Exciting news for the Andrew Mack Band in May! We will be playing the 9th annual Homegrown Live Music Festival in Kingston on Saturday May 6. We always strive to give back through music by supporting community fundraisers and charities. This year we have successfully secured a spot kicking off the festival’s Country venue playing at 1:00 pm at the Royal Tavern. Since 2008, the Festival has raised over $70,000 for Joe’s MILL. The Festival features over 100 musical acts at 12 venues in downtown Kingston. See the full schedule at www.homegrownlive.ca. All-access bracelets are $10 and available at each venue the day of the festival. All proceeds go to the Joe Chithalen Memorial Musical Instrument Lending Library.
Joe’s M.I.L.L is a registered charity in Kingston, Ontario founded by musician Wally High, in memory of his friend and band member, the late Joe Chithalen, who was a talented bass player in several well-known Kingston bands. Joe’s M.I.L.L. is very cool because for a minimal membership fee you can borrow any instrument they have in stock!
Also in May, I’ll be performing with Shannon Smith and Mike Brown at Sandy Pines Wildlife Centre for their Spring Fundraiser on Sunday May 14 at 1:00 pm. For further details of the day go to www.sandypineswildlife.org.
