I feel that embarking on a new project, or in our case a new album, is like going on a new adventure. There are high expectations, excitement for the journey, and thrill of the unknown. I’ve been busy writing songs for our next album which I hope to release next year.
For those who need a recap, the Andrew Mack Band has one official album which was released in 2015 called Infinite Possibilities, available on iTunes and Spotify. As well I worked with a different group of guys and recorded a live off the floor album called Let It Go, released in 2011. This album is also available on iTunes under the band name A Few Innocent Civilians.
Anyways our new album for next year I’m already excited about because we have grown, evolved, improved as musicians and as a band. With Rick Gravel (drummer and musician extraordinaire) and Mike Pacey (bassist with a talent for all stringed instruments) the sound is truly our own. I realize I’m gushing about an album that isn’t fully compiled, isn’t recorded, and isn’t released but I can’t help but be proud of the music we make. I’ll provide some song snips in future posts but for now know that the new songs, much like our current album, offer a cross pollination of genres. There are country-like songs such as This Old Barn and Losing the Country, as well as bluesy songs such as Missed the King, and folk-rock songs like Feels Like Home. Oh but wait, we like a bit of funk too so you might see a song called Paths of My Mind.
Throughout the next year we will be testing these new songs at our shows which you won’t want to miss. Here is a listing of upcoming Andrew Mack Band shows.
